Richmond's 2011 United Way Campaign
When we make decisions, we look through the lens of the Sisters of Bon Secours, while many at for-profit systems look through the lens of shareholders. We enjoy the freedom to pray at the patient’s bedside. We answer the call of the community, while others answer the call of Wall Street.
But the same status that affords us freedoms and privileges also means we must ask our community members, employees and patients for financial support.
That’s partly because for-profit health care systems often can rely on additional sources of funding. They can sell pieces of their health care systems in the stock market to raise money to expand their services and advance their technologies.
Instead, we look to donations to help us go beyond simply providing health care to those who can afford it. With financial support, we make our communities healthier, clinical innovation stronger and give good help to those in need.

How you can help

Paid Time Off - we’re encouraging all Bon Secours employees to consider a gift of 24 hours of PTO time to help the community. To participate in the 24-Hour campaign, simply complete the blanks in the Richmond or Hampton Roads employee donation form and send to the Foundation.

Payroll Deductions - giving through payroll deductions is simple and easy. Simply complete the blanks in the employee donation form and send to the Foundation.

Credit Card - gifts through credit cards may be made through the employee donation form or through our website

Check - we gladly accept checks. Simply make your check out to one of the four foundations above and return it with a print out of our donation form with your selections clearly marked.

Advocacy - often patients want to thank employees for the excellent care they have received. Sharing our grateful patient packet with them gives them an opportunity to recognize excellence and to support their community.
