NEONATAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT (NICU)

Provides comprehensive intensive care treatment for newborns. The first hospital in Virginia and among the first in the country to have an award-winning program, BonSecoursNICU.net, that allows parents and other family members to see their baby(ies) 24/7 using cameras and computer imaging from any location. And, we are one of the first hospitals in the area to offer a donor breast milk program.

 

NOAH’S CHILDREN

Central Virginia’s only pediatric palliative care program serving children who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening or life-limiting illness or condition, and their families. The holistic program ensures comprehensive care for children from birth through 17 years of age. Children are referred by pediatricians, specialists, intensive care units and health departments from all three major health care systems in Central Virginia.

 

PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY

Gentle, expert care from specially trained staff that understand the developmental, behavioral and growing needs of children, including those with special needs, such as autism. Whether those needs include preventive dentistry, a malocclusion (bad bite) or dental issues in conjunction with complex medical concerns, our staff provides the most thorough and effective treatment available.

 

PEDIATRIC EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT (PEM)

Board-certified physicians who are PEM specialists on-site—24 hours a day, 365 days a year with a dedicated, highly trained pediatric emergency nursing team, along with an on-site child life specialist (CLS) and board-certified neonatologists. With a separate emergency entrance just for pediatric patients and 14 state-of-the-art examination rooms, it is designed to be comfortable for children, with a kid-and family-friendly environment that includes features like an interactive butterfly wall and iPads loaded with games.

 

PEDIATRIC HOSPITAL TEAM

Specialized in-patient treatment for children of all ages, from infants to teenagers. We provide a compassionate, child-centered experience to help our patients and their families navigate periods of illness that require a hospital stay. Our team of physicians, nurses, dietitians, case managers, and child life specialists ensure that every child receives the highest level of care. 

 

PEDIATRIC INTENSIVE CARE UNIT (PICU)

Specialized and intensive care treatment for critically ill children of all ages, from infants to teenagers, with rigorous therapies available. PICU patients are monitored closely throughout their stay by highly trained staff that offers the highest level of medical care.  

 

PEDIATRIC OUTPATIENT INFUSION CENTER (OPIC)

Offering blanket warmers, a nutrition station, tablets, gaming consoles and a playroom with chairs designed just for children to make sure their experience is as relaxing as possible. Equipped to deliver a full spectrum of services for ongoing or one-time intravenous therapy for acute and chronic illnesses. With interactive seating areas for patients and treatment rooms for advanced procedures, we provide infusion therapy to kids of all ages, from infants and children to adolescents, throughout Richmond and central Virginia.

 

RICHMOND HOPE THERAPY CENTER

The first clinic in Virginia to offer highly intensive physical therapy. Children receive 3 to 4 hours of therapy a day, 5 days a week, for 3 consecutive weeks in our individualized programs. With the increased time utilizing a variety of innovative tools, therapists work with children to gain maximum strength, flexibility and balance for increased independence and greater functionality.

 

SUBSPECIALTY CLINICS

The pediatric specialty clinics provide gastroenterology, pulmonary, endocrine and neurology care to children. We work with parents to provide multi-specialty, same day appointments for those families whose children need more than one physician. We have top programs in pediatric inflammatory bowel disease, diabetes, chronic lung disease and seizures.
