John J. Muldowney

Senior vice president, BB&T Scott & Stringfellow

John J. “Jack” Muldowney has served as a director of BB&T Scott & Stringfellow since 1974. He has loyally served his alma maters as president of Richmond College Alumni Board at the University of Richmond and with full terms on the Board of Associates for University of Richmond and the Board of Trustees for Benedictine High School.

In the broader community, Muldowney has served as the city of Richmond chairman for the Police Benevolent Association, as treasurer of the Titmus Foundation and on the Steward School Foundation board. He also has been an active member of the Chamber of Commerce.

Within the Richmond church community, Muldowney has been an ecumenical activist while maintaining distinct leadership roles within the Catholic community, including but not limited to, the Advisory Board of the Little Sisters of the Poor, Pastoral Counsel at St. Benedict’s, adviser to the Capital Campaign for Catholic Charities, treasurer of Catholic Virginian, president of St. Francis Home board, Advisory Board at St. Gertrude’s and president of the Mount Calvary Cemetery Association.
