  • Infants in the Newborns Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
  • Children in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
  • Children who have travelled for specialty services at St. Mary’s Hospital
  • Surgery patients
  • Patients receiving Left Ventricle Assist Devices (LVAD)
  • Patients receiving outpatient cancer treatments
  • Patients admitted through the emergency room

“My husband needed four surgeries in 90 days, requiring a five-week stay at St. Mary’s Hospital. I have trouble driving at night, and to pay for a hotel for that many days would have been a hardship.

“Twice I spent the night trying to sleep in the waiting rooms, when my husband was in surgery. It was good to have a real bed and four different walls to look at in the Guest House. The Guest House provided a relief from the worry. Plus, it was comforting to meet other families who were going through the same things as we were.” - Georgia Carter, Gloucester, Va.
